Would You Read Non-J/D?

After 25 years of writing Da Boyz, aka Jack and Daniel (and in Trinity U’s case, Jason too), I’ve ventured off the path into Gen/Het novel territory.  I’m obsessed with it in the exact same way I became obsessed with J/D: I can’t NOT write it.

The Story is called “Valkyries.”  It is a novel with 5 chapters that is also intended as a series.

  • It is set within the same universe as my Trinity Universe.
  • SG-1 exists and interacts with this character in Chapter 2 onward.
  • Teal’c arranges a tete a tete with the Primary Protagonist, Kara Easteman, to discuss an assassination weapon: a black scorpion.  They meet on Dakara.
  • The set-up for this plotline began in Pyramid 2.
  • I have 14K words written already.  Chapter 1 is done.  I’m now in editor mode.

Story Premise:  Kara Easteman is a smuggler.  She decides one day to be a justice collector, and rescue any woman who wants out of Goa’uld enslavement.  there’s a flashback scene, then it’s 8 months later for the reader to see that this story isn’t intended as a one-off.

Question is, would anyone in my fic reader fan base even read it?
